Social Media Management – What is it?

The process of managing businesses online presence is social media management. Social media managers create, publish, and monitor content on various platforms. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube are some of the most popular social media platforms used on a day-to-day basis.

FAQs about Social Media Management.

  1. What social media platform should your business/brand be present on?

In this day and age, every business should strive to have an online presence. Needless to say, attracting new customers, retaining current ones, and growing a business will be much easier. Deciding which social media platform to use depends on where your audience is. Once you have determined that, it highly recommended to have a presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.

2. How often should you post?

Aim to post one to three times during the weekdays. Important: only post relevant or engaging content.

3. Should I post the same content on each platform every day? Or should you post different updates on each site?

No.Each platform is different, therefore, people will follow your brand on each platform for a different reason. The audiences are different. Use storytelling to unify the brands on separate platforms. This can be done(storystelling) by using visuals.

4. What’s more important: followers or engagement?

You can buy followers. However, one cannot ensure they are going to be active and engaged.

Followers: The quality of followers is more important than quantity. Engagement. Without a doubt, having an active community is much more beneficial to your business. Take time to acknowledge followers who comment or share on your posts.

5. How to manage negative comments on social media? First of all, don’t ignore negative comments. This is the worst thing you can do for your brand. Instead, reply to them in a professional but calm tone. Find ways to appease customers who have legitimate gripes or concerns. Do not tolerate abusive or offensive language. Proceed to remove inappropriate comments, however, give people a chance to rephrase them.

6. Where can I find content to share? Seek out source or brands that you trust. Trustworthy sources include the mainstream media and other blogs. Set up reminders to receive posts from sources you trust. Note: Share-worthy content should be valuable and engaging.

7. If people keep missing my posts, how often should I re post?

Frankly, figuring out how often to re post is up to you( or your team). To help you determine the frequency, consider the audience actively level. Do not keep re posting often, thereby annoying your audience and flooding their feeds. They might decide to unfollow you.

8. Is paid social media advertising a good idea?

Yes, however, there is a caveat. When attempts to raise brand awareness have failed, seek this method. Do not depend on it every time you post an update.

9. How do you measure ROI on social media?

After several meetings- virtual/in person- you have decided which platforms your brand is going to use. Congratulations! Plus, there is a consensus on the initial campaigns as well. I would recommend measuring reach, engagement, traffic, and conversion on your social media platforms.

Use the following formula to figure out your ROI:

(return investment made)/ investment madex100 = social media ROI.

10. What common social media marketing mistakes should my brand/business avoid?

Inconsistency. When a business starts using one platform then abandons it. This might confuse people who use that platform and bring about unwanted attention. Publishing that is inconsistent is another trap to avoid. Aim to publish content every day, week, and month at similar times. Your audience will know what to expect.

  1. Reading this article made me realize that I really need to up my social media presence and strategy. It must be wonderful if you can afford to employ someone to do this tedious job for you as I am not a lover of using social media to promote my business and I tend to be very inconsistent which you mention is a no no. I also tend to post the same thing on all the different platforms and I must try and get a bit more creative here.
